Bio -
Born on the Caribbean island of Montserrat, Myrle has a passion for theatre, drama, and creative writing that started in her Secondary School days. She now lives in the county of Northamptonshire in the UK where she migrated to in 2002 after leaving the island because of the volcanic activity and living on St Maarten and Antigua for a while. In the UK she began to focus more on creative writing and has had poems published in an Anthology entitled “Brown Eyes” along with a few magazine articles in regional publications.
In November 2018 her first book of poetry “Tamarind Seeds” was published. Since the book’s release, she has been involved in various poetry performances in Wellingborough, Leicester, Birmingham, Derby, London and Blackpool under the performing name of Alliouagana Pearl. Alliouagana is the indigenous Arawak name for Montserrat. In June 2020 she was one of the authors in the “Virtual Caribbean Literary Festival” www.califest.org. Between June 2020 and April 2021 she was one of the regular performers on the weekly online programme “U Give Hope” by the Ubele Initiative.
