About the Conference

About the Conference

We’re an international literary event taking place each year over three days and streaming online.  CARICON is a literary conference featuring food, music and cultural programming from across the Caribbean region and the Diaspora. CARICON will bring together the most successful elements of Caribbean Literature and cultural heritage the first weekend in June each year. This event sets the stage for the start of Caribbean American Heritage Month celebrations in Southern California.

The program will include keynote addresses, panel discussions, workshops, book launches and poetry readings as well as an array of literary vendors and musical performances. As a not-for-profit initiative designed to enrich the community, CARICON will be streamed online for free. Our workshops are accessible for a minimal donation.
