2021 Caribbean Literary Conference (CARICON) - LIVE ONLINE!
Los Angeles, California – CARICON, the Caribbean Literary Conference featuring food, music and cultural programming from across the Caribbean region and the diaspora, makes its 2021 debut! CARICON 2021 -Rebirth will stream live over the internet over 3 days, Friday June 4, Saturday June 5 and Sunday June 6, 2021.
As a literary conference, CARICON will bring together the most successful elements of Caribbean Literature and cultural heritage the first weekend of June each year. This event sets the stage for the start of Caribbean American Heritage Month celebrations in Southern California.
The program will include panel discussions, workshops, book launches, poetry readings, children’s programs as well as an array of literary vendors and musical performances. As a not-for-profit initiative designed to enrich the community, CARICON will be streamed online for free and our workshops will be accessible for a minimal fee.
CARICON is an innovative annual project conceived by Steve Russell (former Co-Director of Caribbean Literary Festival), and sponsored by the Los Angeles-based non-profit organization Jamaica Cultural Alliance. The conference is also sponsored by the Jamaica Tourist Board.
