Sujin Huggins is an associate professor in the School of Information Studies at Dominican University, River Forest, Illinois, where she teaches in the areas of children’s literature and youth services, reference/user learning, and community informatics. Her research interests include literature of the African Diaspora for youth, critical pedagogy and praxis in LIS, and storytelling with young people. Prior to pursuing doctoral studies, she worked as a children’s librarian at the Port of Spain Children’s Library of the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago (the country she calls home). She has been a member of the board of the Center of the Study of Multicultural Literature (CSCML) since its inception in 2011 and has also served as a selector on the Coretta Scott King Book Award Jury and USBBY’s Hans Christian Andersen Award Nominating Committee
